Help & Guides
What would you like to do?
Start with your first card, or jump to the tool you need help with.
Start here: your first card
Take a photo, check the match, and save it to your binder.
- Open Profile to create an account or sign in. Use the same sign-in method when you return.
- Choose Scan on your phone or tablet, or Upload card photo on a laptop. Search cards also lets you find a card by name and number.
- Compare the printed name, complete collector number, set, language and finish with your physical card. Select the correct printing before saving.
- Choose a binder, condition and quantity, then confirm and save. Open Collection to see the card.
Already have a collection spreadsheet? Open Collection and use Import instead of adding each row by hand.
Back to guide listScan and confirm a card
A suggested match is a starting point. You choose what gets saved.
- Place one card on a plain background in even light. Keep the whole card in view, focus the camera and avoid glare.
- On a phone or tablet, use the scanner or choose a saved photo. On a laptop, upload a photo. Retake if the printed details are hard to read.
- Compare the suggested card with yours, including every digit in the number and the printed language. Check the finish: normal, holo and reverse holo can be different printings.
- Check the available price before saving; adding to a binder is optional. If the match is wrong, use Wrong card? Find the correct one. If no exact printing is available, review the details and save unverified where offered.
An unverified card can keep your photo without borrowing another printing’s price. Retry price checks without rescanning. Chinese results offer a price-history link and a provider reference where available; broader references are excluded from binder totals.
Back to guide listFind cards in any supported language
Search is for finding catalog cards. Collection search only searches cards you saved.
- Open Search cards and choose the card’s printed language.
- Enter a name and, when available, its full number: for example Charizard ex 199/165. Keep leading zeros. You can use the printed local name.
- Compare the set, artwork and number before opening a result and adding it.
- If nothing appears, try the printed name alone, check the language, or scan the physical card.
Catalog coverage varies by language and set. Similar artwork or an English name does not confirm an exact foreign printing.
Back to guide listOrganize your binder and card photos
Keep quantities, purchase costs and card details together.
- Open Collection. Use the search, binder and Ungraded / Graded filters to find cards. Home highlights include a Grading check shortlist: open a card to compare completed graded sales and enter your costs. The shortlist starts with your highest-value raw English or Japanese cards saved as Near Mint, with a confirmed finish and current USD price; it does not predict a grade.
- Open a card to edit its details or quantity. Increase quantity when you own another copy; you do not need to delete the original.
- Use the binder controls to create a binder. Select the destination binder when adding cards.
- In card details, switch between your original photo and catalog artwork when available. Use Find catalog artwork for missing artwork and compare before selecting.
Changing artwork does not verify the printing or attach its price. If a card seems missing, clear search and filters and sort by Newest added.
Back to guide listTrack sealed products in My Sealed
Find the exact product edition and keep your sealed collection separate from your cards.
- Open Sealed Products from the menu, or use the sealed products link on the dashboard. You can browse without signing in.
- Search by set or product name and choose a product type. Use the set name alone if extra words give no results. Compare the product picture and full edition name; standard and Pokémon Center editions, collections and cases are separate products. Upcoming products appear when our provider adds them.
- Open a box to check its available USD market estimate, source and update date. Free shows the last 7 days of price history; Pro also offers 30- and 90-day views. Missing pictures, prices or history are shown as unavailable.
- Sign in to save the box in My Sealed. Enter the total number you own and, optionally, the purchase cost per box. Saving again replaces that box’s total quantity.
- Open My Sealed to review or remove your saved boxes. Open a saved box and save it again to refresh its stored market estimate.
Sealed product values are estimates, not guaranteed sale prices. My Sealed totals are separate from your card binder. Sealed tracking does not include card price alerts, binder export or eBay listing tools.
Explore ETBs & SealedBack to guide listGet a pre-grade and inspect the report
Use front and back photos of the same physical card. No manual line placement is needed.
- Open Grading. Add the front photo, then the back. Keep all corners visible, use even light and avoid blur or glare.
- Open Review, check both photos and tick the two confirmations. The message above the estimate button explains anything still missing.
- Choose Get my pre-grade. Wait for processing to finish; the main estimate and visual assessment may have different scores.
- Use the Front and Back views to see the full report, centering or original image. Choose Inspect card and enable the magnifier: move your mouse on a laptop or drag on a phone or tablet. Arrow keys also work.
- Download estimate (PDF) after the report finishes. Open View saved reports for your report history, or Grade another card to start again. Saved reports last 7 days on Free and 30 days on Pro; download PDFs before expiration.
Reopening or downloading a saved result does not request another grade. Older estimates may contain scores only; image-saving warnings mean some images may be unavailable later. These are photo estimates, not official grades or authentication.
Back to guide listImport or export a collection
Review spreadsheet rows before anything is added.
- In Collection, choose Import and select a CSV or Excel (.xlsx) file. Files can contain up to 200 card rows and be up to 5 MB.
- Match the spreadsheet columns to the requested fields and select a destination binder. Review the names, numbers, language, condition, finish and quantities.
- Use Correct this row for an error, or Skip this row. The import button becomes available when all included rows are valid and a destination binder is selected.
- Use Skip duplicates to avoid adding existing entries, or the quantity option if you intend to add more copies. Review before importing.
- For a readable download, choose the formatted Excel export. CSV is plain data for other tools and does not preserve spreadsheet formatting. Collection import is included in Free; CSV and Excel export are Pro features.
New imports do not automatically include card photos, verified catalog matches or market prices. Add catalog artwork from card details. Exported market values are not used to assign values to newly imported cards.
Back to guide listUnderstand prices and collection value
Market values are estimates, not guaranteed selling prices.
- Open a card’s price details to check the source, finish, condition and update date.
- Record what you paid separately from the market estimate. Quantity affects the total value of that entry.
- Treat No sales data or unavailable values as missing information, not a zero-dollar card.
- Use marketplace listings to research options. Asking prices do not prove completed-sale value or an exact printing.
A photo pre-grade does not turn a raw card into a professionally graded card or automatically give it a graded-card value.
Back to guide listSet up price alerts and notifications
Choose the price changes you want to hear about. Free includes 3 active alerts; Pro includes 25.
- Open a card and use its price-alert controls to set your target.
- Open Profile & settings to review email and phone notification preferences.
- For phone notifications, enable push notifications on the device and allow the browser’s permission request.
- If alerts do not arrive, check the alert is active, your target, device permissions and email spam folder. After a downgrade, extra targets remain saved but paused; your newest targets stay active up to the plan limit.
Price checks run in the background, not continuously. An alert depends on an available price update and your notification settings.
Back to guide listPrepare and review an eBay listing
Check the card and listing details before publishing.
- Open Sell on eBay and connect the eBay account you want to sell from. Check that it is your intended seller account. You can save a draft on Free; preparing or publishing an eBay offer requires Pro.
- Select a card and review its quantity, condition, photos and description.
- Save the draft, then complete the required details shown in the checklist. Select a highlighted missing detail to go straight to that field.
- Choose Continue to final review. The page takes you to the review: check the details, tick the confirmation and choose Publish live on eBay. Preparing an offer does not publish it.
- Use Back to my cards to leave with your saved draft, or Discard draft to abandon it. Use the listing’s end controls to end a live listing.
Connecting eBay or preparing a draft does not mean the card has been sold. Check the listing status after publishing or ending it.
Back to guide listTrack your sets
See which cards you own and what is still missing.
- Open My Sets and find the set you want to collect.
- Review owned and missing cards. Open a card to research it or add the correct printing.
- Keep the set and printing correct when saving cards so your collection can be associated with the right set.
Different languages and releases can have different set lists. Check the printing rather than relying on matching artwork.
Back to guide listCompare a trade
Compare available values while keeping condition and missing prices in mind.
- Open a saved card and add it to the trade, or open Trade Checker.
- Build both sides with the intended cards and quantities.
- Review each card’s printing, condition and available price before comparing totals.
Missing prices make a comparison incomplete. The displayed difference is an estimate, not a recommendation to accept a trade.
Back to guide listFree, Pro and your account
Compare plans on the Pro page and manage billing in Profile.
- Open Profile to sign in or manage account and notification settings.
- Open Pro plans to compare Free and Pro. Pro is $6.99 per month or $62.91 per year, with 25% annual savings. Free includes 25 scans per month, one introductory pre-grade total and 3 active price alerts. Pro includes 500 scans and 5 pre-grades per month, 25 active price alerts, CSV/Excel export and eBay selling.
- If you have a subscription, open Profile → Pro subscription → Manage subscription & invoices to view invoices, update payment details or cancel renewal.
- Before requesting a new grade, check the remaining allowance displayed in Grading. Reopening a saved report uses no credits.
- If a tool is unavailable, read its status message. Saved results can still be reopened when a new-request allowance is exhausted.
- For an account problem, contact support@scanmybinder.com with the tool name and error message. Never send passwords or API keys.
Monthly plan allowances reset on the first day of each month (UTC), including annual plans. Canceling renewal keeps Pro active through the paid period.
