Pokémon card grading estimates
Get an AI Pokémon card pre-grade and inspect your card before deciding whether to send it for professional grading. Upload front and back photos for an AI pre-grade estimate, available automatic visual overlays, and centering measurements.
What a photo pre-grade report shows
The main estimate assesses centering, corners, edges and surface from the submitted photographs. A separate visual assessment can show automatic grading lines, individual edge and corner scores, and left/right and top/bottom centering ratios where available.
These assessments use different methods, so their scores may differ. ScanMyBinder keeps them separate rather than averaging them into a new grade. The visual report helps you inspect the areas behind the numbers.
Automatic overlays and a closer look
You do not need to position grading lines manually. The visual analysis places the overlays where a report is available. Use the inspection magnifier to examine the card and its markings more closely.
On a laptop, move the pointer across the inspection view. On a phone or tablet, use the touch inspection controls. Saved reports and downloadable PDFs let you return to the assessment without requesting another grade.
Photograph both sides clearly
Photograph the front and back of the same physical card. Keep the entire card and all four corners visible, use even light, reduce glare, and check focus before submitting. Aim the camera squarely at the card to reduce perspective distortion.
Blur, glare, sleeves, cases and reflections can hide defects or make borders harder to assess. Retake a photo if details are obscured. The estimate describes what the photographs reveal; it cannot establish defects that are hidden from the camera.
Pokémon card centering: left/right and top/bottom
A left/right ratio describes the relative border widths on opposite sides of the card. A result of 47/53 means one side accounts for 47% of the measured pair of borders and the other for 53%. Top/bottom is a separate measurement.
Ratios are not a guarantee of any grading company’s decision. Card design, photo quality and the detected borders affect the measurement. Review the overlay against the card rather than relying on the number alone.
Try pre-grading, then keep reports with Pro
Free accounts include one introductory pre-grade. Pro includes five pre-grades each calendar month. One credit covers the main estimate and visual report for the same front and back photos where those reports are available.
Reopening or downloading an existing saved report uses no additional grading credit. Submitted requests with uncertain outcomes may retain their credit to prevent duplicate charges; follow the displayed recovery guidance before submitting again.
Common questions
Is this an official PSA, CGC, BGS or TAG grade?
No. It is a photo-based AI estimate, not professional grading, authentication or a guarantee of a future grade. Hidden defects and differences in grading methods can affect the outcome.
Do I need to save a card to my binder first?
No. You can upload front and back photos directly in the pre-grading area. Selecting a card from your collection is optional.
Where can I read about the analysis providers?
The About page’s grading FAQ and Privacy Policy explain the third-party analysis services and how submitted photos are handled.
